God Did It!

But he said, “Peace be with you, do not be afraid. Your God and the God of your father has given you treasure in your sacks; I had your money.” Then he brought Simeon out to them." Genesis 43:23

In this part of Joseph's life as depicted in the Bible, Joseph, who was reunited with his brothers, instructed his servant to secretly return the money they had paid for grain back into their sacks. When they discovered the money, they were filled with fear and confusion. This act of returning their money created a moment of anxiety and uncertainty for Joseph's brothers, reminiscent of times in our lives when unexpected events trigger fear within us. It is natural to react with fear in such situations, but it is important to be reminded not to succumb to fear. Despite our lack of understanding about the unknown, we can take solace in the fact that God is aware of all things.

The servant eased the brothers' fears by first offering them peace and then reassuring them that they did not need to be afraid. He attributed the return of their money to divine intervention by proclaiming, "God did it!" He emphasized that their God and the God of their father had orchestrated the return of the money. This reassurance serves as a reminder that we can trust in God's protection and sovereignty, enabling us to face challenges without fear.

Personal Prayer: Father God, in my own life journey, I have experienced moments of uncertainty and fear. Yet, in those times, Your presence was my rock, guiding me through the storm. I am grateful for Your unwavering love and protection, which have carried me through every trial. Strengthen my faith, Lord, so that I may trust in Your divine plan even when the path ahead seems unclear. Just as Joseph's brothers found solace in Your intervention, help me find peace in knowing that You are in control of all things. Amen.
