Can y'all believe December 2021 is here already? I mean it feels like the country just shut down for C19. Now, even though my favorite season is Fall, I must admit that December is my favorite month. Why? It is the one month that the world put the spotlight on Jesus. But I also realize and recognize that it is also a time period where people get stressed out; especially parents. December is the month we celebrate the birth of Jesus during the Christmas season. And the celebration brings with it gift-giving. We're all aware of the financial and job situation most of us are experiencing today as a result of the pandemic. Some people may already be experiencing stress over whether they will be able to buy gifts for their loved ones.
Well, let's discuss a few things that will help us to not stress over gift-giving.
First, let's be reminded of the word of God that tells us in Philippians 4:19, "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God."
Second, Proverbs 12:25 informs us that "anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, but a good word makes it glad."
Third, the word says in Romans 8:28, "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose."
Lastly, let's be reminded of what Jesus said in Matthew 7:7, "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you."
Focusing on the Word of God and the real meaning of Christmas; which is Jesus, the greatest GIFT of all, can help to alleviate the stress in gift-giving.
Love, peace & joy to you!
