Moving Those Mountains

I won't make this a long post but I want to remind you of some wisdom Jesus gave His disciples.

We all face issues in life. Some are small whereas others seem as big as a mountain. If you are like me, you try to fix things on your own, well at least I used to. Though they never really panned out how I wanted them to. How many of us can honestly say that we go to God with all of our problems both big and small? I learned in my mid-twenties how to lean on God. And in doing so, I had to learn how to have faith. It didn't matter how unsurmountable my problem appeared. I had to remember that my problem was in the hands of God.

When the disciples realized they couldn't heal the man's son from being possessed by the demon. They asked Jesus in Matthew 17 verse 19, "Why could we not cast it out?" He told them it was because of their lack of faith. Jesus tells us in the next verse that we need only to have faith as the size of mustard seed; which is very tiny to the eye. You can barely see it. I'm pretty sure there are some big mountains in your life that don't seem to be moving. Let me encourage you to keep praying and keep having faith. Moving those mountains is possible if only we believe!

'Then Jesus said to the disciples, “Have faith in God. I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart. I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours. But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your sins, too.”'

Mark 11:22-25 NLT

Prayer: O Holy God of Heaven Armies, we bless You today as You are the Holy God of creation. You remind us in Your word that trials and tribulations will come. Sometimes we see them as mountains. Remind us to give thanks for any issue or problem we encounter because there are life's lessons to be recognized. Father, help us to seek Your wisdom and guidance first. You tell us in Your word that it only takes a very small amount of faith to move those mountains. Faith the size of a mustard seed. Today, we are choosing to exercise our faith and to move those mountains without any doubt. Even when they don't move when we desire, we will continue to walk in faith knowing that You are in control. You instruct us Jesus to first forgive anyone we are holding a grudge against, so we ask if there are any hidden grudges that You please reveal to us that we may forgive. We give thanks to You Lord God, for Your forgiveness of our sins. These things and all things we pray in Jesus name. Amen
