We read, in the Word of God, that we were bought by God with a price and that the life of Jesus was the ultimate price for the salvation of our souls. This purchase makes us God's property, right? At the price of His Son, God became our owner. In order to identify us, the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 1:22, "It is God who enables us, along with you, to stand firm for Christ. He has commissioned us, and He has identified us as His own by placing the Holy Spirit in our hearts as the first installment that guarantees everything He has promised us."
The Holy Spirit within us is God's seal of ownership. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we can stand firm for Christ through anything we encounter, even persecution. God promised that through our faith in His Son, Jesus, we are saved. God keeps His promises.
The seal of ownership comes with the authority to rule on the earth. We can stand against the wicked ruler of this world, the devil. We have the POWER to conquer our enemy through the Holy Spirit. However, many of us are unaware that we are not our own, but God. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 says, "Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body."
Let me encourage you all to ask God for a greater understanding of His love. He loves us so much that He doesn't want us to perish because of sin. He loves us so much, the gracious sacrifice of His Son, paid the ultimate price for our sin.
I belong to God! What about you?
