Hello All! Last week while studying, I came across the reason Napoleon and Hilter both lost the war in Russia. It was very interesting to see how the Russians used the same tactic to defeat both opponents in two different centuries. You see, evidently, the Russians knew the importance of a military supply line. What did they do? According to history, each time their enemy moved forward the Russians retreated leaving no spoils for them. The enemy drew tired and hungry. They sabotaged their supply line and as a result, Napoleon and Hitler's armies suffered a devastating shortage of food and drink, lack of communication and medical treatment, clothing, hypothermia and death. The Russians defeated their enemies by eliminating their basic principal needs.
Speaking on another level, what is your spiritual supply line? What connects you with heaven's headquarters? It is called prayer. Prayer is the direct line between you and God. It is through prayer that God supplies our daily needs. It is through prayer that we get refreshed. It is through prayer that we get restored in our spirits. It is through prayer that we get reenergized for serving Jesus and battling Satan. Paul reminds us in Ephesians 6 verses 11 through 18to put on the entire armor of God and to PRAY. "'Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.'"
Prayer opens up the floodgates to heaven's resources. God has everything we need to get through this thing called life. There is no shortage because God is able to do infinitely more than we might ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). There is absolutely nothing too hard for the God we serve. Never allow your spiritual supply line to be sabotaged by the distractions of the enemy or run out due to the busyness of life. Prayer is one of the simplest things we can do, yet it has the power to do what man can't! Check your line.
What does your spiritual supply line look like? Is it one built to last or one that can be eliminated by the enemy? The enemy knows what happens when you pray. He knows God is listening. And he knows God is greater than he is!
