Most of us do not have the worry of where our next meal will come from or where we will sleep tonight.
If you are like me, then you have been blessed daily to go into your kitchen and cook up a meal for your family or yourself. Or perhaps you have the funds to purchase a meal. You then take that meal and eat it in the coziness of your home under lights, heat and running water. You will finally retire to a warm, soft bed. However, there are many people throughout the world that do have these worries. They have no clean running water or food to cook a meal. Their beds are made out of boxes or one may be lucky enough to have a blanket. Unlike you and I, they have to depend on the kindness of strangers or go without. We should be extremely thankful for everything we have that others may lack.
Scripture tells us that...
If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. - Ecclesiastes 4:10 NLT
Scripture also says...
“If you see that your neighbor’s donkey or ox has collapsed on the road, do not look the other way. Go and help your neighbor get it back on its feet! - Deuteronomy 22:4 NLT
Be on alert for the needs of others. Check on your neighbor who may have children and see what you can do to make sure they have food on their table. Donate to a homeless shelter or nursing home. Sponsor a family from church or a school. Show up for those less fortunate. Take the Worry Away! It is truly better to give than to receive.
May God create in you a willing and giving heart!
