Who is Kathy Booker Hood?

I had the pleasure and honor to attend a women's conference where Dean Kathy, as she is so eloquently known, spoke with such excitement, motivation and inspiration in her voice. There was no way I was going to leave that conference without getting to meet her personally. I am truly grateful that I did not allow fear to keep me from opening my mouth and receive the blessing she had to offer.

Kathy Hood is the founder and CEO of the non-profit organization Marvelous Light Empowerment Association. MLEA is missioned and dedicated to changing the lives of families and individuals using various tools and resources required to grow and develop physically, mentally, spiritually and financially. This is accomplished through a myriad of services, training and workshops. Dean Kathy has established a number of outstanding programs, of which Woman University is one of them. Woman U was created to provide services, educational opportunities and resources to equip women to become community leaders and business owners through a creative, supportive global network. I am a proud graduate of the 2019 Spring Class of Woman University; where I birth and created the Mama Goose Show podcast.

Kathy is the recipient of several awards for her committed and dedicated community service and her leadership. She has been featured in several local publications. She is intentional in her mission to empower and develop women, business owners and leaders throughout the country. Our History Maker of the week is married and is the proud mother of an adult daughter and son, two grandsons and one granddaughter.

One of Dean Kathy's motto is "Turn your mess into a message"! Kathy is making history empowering women and her community.
